Fees & Costs

We will present you a letter of mission precising our fees, calculated on basis of an hourly rate.

Invoices are established on basis of the details of the accomplished services. A provision on fees can be asked at every stage of the mission.

The fees are in principle subject to VAT (21%).

The client will have to support the costs inherent to any legal procedure. For example : huissier de justice (e.a.AR 30/11/1976), greffe, caution, expéditions, expertise, etc.

Gerechtsdeurwaarder (KB 30.11.1976), waarborg, deskundig onderzoek, griffiekosten, uitgiftes, afschriften enz.

In principle, the party that wins a trial can demand that the loosing counterpart has to pay him an indemnity of procedure that covers partly the expenses for the defense fees of the lawyer. This indemnity is fixed by law (art. 1022 Ger.W./CJ en KB 26/10/2007) and the judge has to precise the amount.

Several taxes may be due by a loosing or condemned party  (f.ex. droit de mise au rôle/rolrechten, Loi 14/10/2018 & AR 28/1/2019 ) (KB 15/12/2019 in strafzaken) (droit de condamnation/veroordelingsrecht art. 142 CDE)
